Nature Natters: Adult Wellbeing Group
4th April 2025

Enjoy a breath of fresh air with Nature Natters. Hazel will welcome you to our warm space at The Gatehouse in the stunning grounds of Cliffe Castle. We will start the session with a nature-based activity, no previous experience necessary. Make new friends and chat over a cuppa and refreshments. (fresh air and nature connection included).

AWARE – Family Forest School at St Mary’s Riddlesden
4th April 2025

Join Get Out More in Collaboration with AWARE at St Mary’s Primary, Riddlesden for a family introduction to forest school. Gather round the campfire and toast marshmallows, relax in hammocks, test your balance on the slacklines and get creative with plenty of craft activities!

 

Places are free for families in Keighley.

 

Full details of meeting place, what to bring etc are in the booking confirmation which will be sent to you via email.

 

Key booking information:

 

  1. If your child needs additional support please book on with full details then we will be in contact. We aim to be inclusive and will endeavour to get additional staff or volunteers to support, so we have appropriate ratios. Once you have booked we will call you to discuss how we can accommodate any additional needs.
  2. If places have sold out, please join the waitlist and we will contact you if places become available.

A wellbeing group for adults in Cliffe Castle Park to reduce stress and feel more positive. Activities such as natural crafts, nature walks, fire lighting, campfire cooking, clay art, and whittling will be incorporated. There are some steep hills in the park. No dogs or children please. 

 

The session will run from 1pm until 3pm, meeting outside the cafe at Cliffe Castle.

 

This is a child-free and dog-free session to allow relaxation for all

 

participants. Please switch your mobile phone to silent at the

 

beginning of the event and avoid making and receiving calls during the

 

session.

ITC Level 1 Introduction to Forest School Training
19th March 2025

Get Out More is once again running the accredited introduction to forest school training course, ‘Level 1 Award in Forest School Ethos and Principles’, taking place 16 – 18 September 2025 from its premises in Cliffe Castle Park in Keighley

 

The level 1 training is an introduction to the forest school ethos, introducing the Forest School Principles and how the approach can benefit the holistic development of children and young people. Learners will participate a range of woodland skills such as games, shelter building, fire lighting and tool work, enabling them to facilitate outdoor learning using different learner-centred processes, while encouraging children’s social development, confidence and self-esteem.

 

This course is suitable for anyone working with children and young people including school staff, community workers, parents etc. It is ideal for those people who are wanting to gain skills for working outdoors with individuals and groups, those who want to explore Forest School before embarking on the level 3 course or those who wish to support a trained Forest Schools practitioner. 

 

This is a Kindling /Scotswood Training course regulated by ITC Awards and delivered by experienced trainer, Annie Berrington of Get Out More CIC

Family Play Training Course with Get Out More
12th March 2025

Get Out More invites families to come along to introduction in outdoor play at St Josephs Catholic Primary Primary School!

 

Families will participate in a range of fun and stimulating play activities, giving them new ideas for play with their little ones. Parents will also have the opportunity to learn a short introduction about the theory of play. There will also be light refreshments at the end of the course.

 

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance after completing the training, as well as plenty of ideas to help you get out into green spaces and parks!

 

Gateway to Nature – Home Education Forest School Group
12th March 2025

Join Cath and Dan at The Good Shepherd Centre in Keighley for our new Home Education Forest School group, where the team will have a range of activities both indoors and outdoors for ages 5-11+!  We will have forest school crafts, games and nature discovery outdoors, and in the event of bad weather, we can take activities inside. 

 

There are several ways to book, either pay as you go, or book your child’s place for the rest of the term at a discounted rate!

 

Price list:

 

  • Single Pay as You Go session – £12.50
  • Block Booking for our dates this term (25 Oct, 8 Nov, 22 Nov, 6 Dec, 20 Dec) £50 for 5 sessions.

 

Families living in the Keighley East, Keighley West, Keighley Central and Worth Valley wards can access these sessions for free, to check your eligibility just click any of the ward names to see a map of the area.
